Claxby Grange Farm is over 500 acres in size (that’s the equivalent of 284 football pitches) and sits at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

I think it's important for children to understand where their food comes from, and the work that goes into producing it.

We’re an arable farm, which means we grow the crops – and these crops are used to make the food you eat every day.

• Wheat is used to make bread

• Oil seed rape is used to make cooking oil

• Sugar beet makes sugar

• Canary Seed for bird food

• And our carrots are sold as they are

Plus we also grow miscanthus – which is a biomass crop and is used to make electricity at Brigg power station.

A trip to my farm is a fun and educational day out for both pupils and teachers, and I hope to see you soon.
